Just a brief pictorial recap of my omakase dinner at Kiriko late last month w/ Lawrence while he was in town…
Octopus, Smoked Salmon w/ Mango & Caviar, Scallop
Seared Scallop w/ Nori (not pictured)
Ayu no shio yaki (Sweetfish) – came with a green tea vinaigrette sauce
My first time eating ayu. It looked like a very big version of a smelt fish – complete with the roe. It did a have sweet taste indeed – delicious!
Soft Shell Crab Tempura & Kakiage
I’m actually not too crazy about the way this looked (was afraid it was going to be tough), but ended up being melt-in-your-mouth fatty.
Sablefish (according to Lawrence – I completely forgot)
Uni & Ika
Another great meal at Kiriko. Ken-san was on vacation that week, but nothing missed a beat. Thanks again Shinji-san!
