Another month, another Kiriko post! To keep it short, Lawrence and I came here on Wednesday because he hasn’t been and really wanted to try it. I’m missing two items – one zensai dish was blurry, and I forgot to take a photo of the delicious chutoro. Great visit as always. Thanks again to Ken-san and Shinji-san!
On a side note, talked to Ken-san in depth during dinner, since they weren’t too busy. Learned a couple of things. One, Kiriko usually gets their fish on Tuesdays and Fridays, though they do go to the market on Wednesdays and Thursdays for smaller stuff as needed. Also, they use San Diego uni for the sushi (because Ken-san thinks that they’re actually a bit sweeter than the Santa Barbara variety, which I actually agree with, but will hold judgment until I have them side-by-side), but they have the Santa Barbara uni for other dishes. I learn something new about sushi every visit.
